About Sylvie Roy

Sylvie was born and raised on the Canadian Prairies of Saskatchewan. As a farm girl, she acquired her first job at the age of 11, picking rocks and working on her neighbor’s land.  Always staying busy and always working, primarily in the customer service industry, was a theme through her teenage years.  This work ethic carried her throughout the post secondary world, graduating with a Bachelor of Education (Honors) from the University of Regina. 

Sylvie taught French in Elementary School for 6 years and eventually took a year to live abroad in Ireland to explore Europe. On her return to Canada, she completed her Master in Arts from the University of Ottawa before moving to California.  While she taught Library Studies in a private school in Saratoga, she also began finding a new passion in Real Estate.After her first daughter was born, Sylvie switched gears into the field of Residential Real Estate and Property Management, working with a small boutique brokerage.  She focused on operations, marketing, and development projects. 

For the past 5 years, she has honed and grew her skills with both buyers and sellers in the Bay Area. Founding North+Main has been a natural progression for Sylvie, realizing her dream of better assisting her clients while also expanding her business acumen by overseeing home renovation and development projects. Sylvie has personal experience as a multiple home owner of short and long term rentals, allowing her to guide clients with the supervision and administration in all property rental scenarios.

Some of Sylvie’s accomplishments include publishing a book and homeschooling her two children. In her free time she enjoys reading, writing, playing piano, being out in nature and card games with her best friend/husband. Sylvie has always prided herself on being able to listen, take direction and learn quickly which has helped her throughout the years in the very fast paced world of Real Estate, Her favorite motto is “only boring people get bored” as she loves nothing more than being busy in all the right ways.
