Step 1: Confirm Ownership
Call your solar company to see if the system is leased or owned. Get the transfer paperwork early.
Step 2: Be Transparent
Highlight benefits like energy savings, but disclose that the buyer will assume the lease. Clear communication builds trust.
Step 3: Coordinate With Lenders
Send the lease documents to escrow and the buyer’s lender right away to prevent delays.
Owned systems are even easier to sell—just provide proof of ownership.
